Career Navig8 Lake County
Career Navig8 Lake County is set to be a large-scale event hosted at the Lake County Fairgrounds on October 30, 2024. This event will be open to all 8th graders and high schoolers in Lake County. It is designed to motivate students to continue exploring and planning their careers in partnership with area businesses. This Career Exploration Day sponsored by Dr. Michael Karner aims to give students a valuable opportunity to connect with various businesses representing multiple career clusters.
The purpose of Career Navig8 is to offer hands-on experiences that align with the district’s comprehensive career readiness curriculum and the PaCE Framework. This will help students better understand the diverse career opportunities available within our community and across different career pathways. The event supports our mission to develop students who are self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers, and community contributors.
Through the assistance of Job Center of Lake County IL and Lake County Partners, we aim to involve various businesses and individuals, each representing different career pathways. Every business will have a booth featuring a hands-on activity to engage students and provide insight into their careers. Throughout the day, all students from all junior high & high schools in Lake County will visit the various career booths, enhancing their career exploration journey. The AM sessions will be in 8th grade, followed by a lunch break before two sessions for high school students. (7:30 AM- 3:00 PM).
We’re collecting your information below so we can follow up with you as a vendor for the hands-on event to inspire middle school students and connect with your future pipeline through our high school students.
