Workforce Development Department is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as the Workforce Development Board Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating board activities related to workforce programs, compliance, strategic planning, communications, business relationships, and board meetings. Essential Functions

WDB Management 

  • Coordinate all activities related to Workforce Development Board membership, meeting calendars and agendas, meeting preparations and management.
  • Serve as main contact to board members, board leadership, local and state government units.
  • Maintain WDB membership and deliverables compliant with WIOA and OMA.
  • Serve as the OMA officer. 

Grant Administration

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of State and Federal laws and rules governing or related to WIOA and other workforce programs.
  • Provide WIOA, workforce legislation, and policy interpretation and analysis to WDB members.
  • Evaluate prospective vendors, partners, and training providers/programs in regards to applicable regulations and approval criteria, review selections and applications, and provide recommendations to the Board.
  • Project manage the development and submission of compliance plans and documents.
  • Assist in the development and submission of additional grant opportunities.

Strategic Communications

  • Project manage the board’s strategic plan and updates and carry out the associated action plans.
  • Project manage the board’s communication plan and vendors.
  • Lead special projects to support board actions and activities.
  • Represent the board before community groups involved in workforce and economic development.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in regional, state and national groups/membership organizations.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required

  • Strong knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations related to workforce programs, preferably WIOA.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools, social media platforms, and website management.
  • Experience in strategic planning and report generation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and other Requirements

  • To be successful in this role the candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with prior experience working with a board or similar governing body preferred.

Physical Requirements

Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis, and dexterity in operating office equipment.
