Sep 3, 2025 | News

As we continue our celebration of Workforce Development Month, we are thrilled to announce two local individuals have received recognition as “Workforce Development Heroes” from the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP).

Each year, NAWDP shines a spotlight on the extraordinary individuals and organizations from across the country whose commitment continues to revitalize and strengthen the American workforce.

Please join us in congratulating our two local recipients, Scott Adams, President/CEO of the GLMV Chamber of Commerce, and Anjel Martinez, Accountant for Lake County Workforce Development.

Scott’s Story:
GLMV, under Scott Adams’ leadership, has demonstrated exceptional leadership in fostering a thriving business climate while strengthening the social fabric of our region. Each year, GLMV directly assists over 600 businesses across multiple municipalities, making it a powerful driver of local economic development. Through policy and business advocacy, the Chamber gives a voice to small businesses, ensures their needs are represented in legislative discussions, and champions initiatives that support economic sustainability.

Anjel’s Story:
Anjel exemplifies what it means to be a behind-the-scenes champion whose steadfast commitment and exceptional financial stewardship allow our programs and services to thrive. She meticulously processes all program-related financials including RFPs, invoices, client support services, and more. Her work ensures that every dollar is correctly obligated, incurred, expensed, and posted—providing the financial clarity and control essential to sustaining workforce development resources across Lake County.
