New Resources Available for Adult Education Instructors and Students

Jan 1, 2022 | News

As a result of intentional partner integration meetings held last October, the College of Lake County, Dist. 113, and Dist. 120, all key Adult Education partners of the Job Center, recently participated in the creation of a video tour of the Job Center and a guide to job interviews.

The first video introduces students and instructors to the Job Center, while the second video provides an interviewing workshop customized for English as a Second Language (ESL) students. Two ESL instructors participated in the working group that developed these videos, advising Job Center personnel on language and format that would connect with second-language learners. In addition to both videos, supporting documents are also available and accessible via the links at the end of this story.

The Workforce Development Board wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the county production team, including Rason Grant, Ashannti Ross, and Kevin Quinn, as well as College of Lake County instructors, Warren Thomas (CLC), and Vicki Ettelson (Dist. 113), all of whom guided us in creating a product appropriate for second-language learners.
