Ms. Sandie Tran, Human Resources Vice President at Medline, has been appointed to the Lake County Workforce Development Board of Directors. In this role, Ms. Tran will assist the Workforce Board in its collaboration with key partners and stakeholders to lead performance-driven and innovative strategies that develop, align and integrate the region and local area’s job-driven workforce development system.

At Medline, Ms. Tran oversees its Corporate, Commercial and Manufacturing divisions, leading the strategy and planning, development, implementation and administration of enterprise-wide Human Resources services. The company has about 2,500 team members in Lake County across six office, manufacturing and distribution facilities who serve major hospital networks, physician offices, nursing homes and the whole continuum of healthcare.

Ms. Tran joined Medline in 2015 as the Director of Human Resources for Corporate and Commercial divisions. She was promoted to Human Resources Vice President over Corporate, Commercial and Manufacturing divisions in 2016. During her tenure, she has led acquisitions, business integrations and supported fast-paced growth within the company.

When asked about her new role with the Workforce Board, Ms. Tran stated, “I am excited to be appointed to the Lake County Workforce Development Board. I look forward to working alongside business representatives from the public and private sectors, all of which are committed to improving the workforce development system in our region. I also value and appreciate the Board’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, particularly as it relates to underserved communities.”

In 2021, as HR Advisor to Medline’s Hispanic/Latinx Employee Resource Group (ERG), Ms. Tran participated in college and university speaking events and supported Medline’s Evanston Scholars program, creating and delivering content to college students preparing to enter the workforce. Traditionally, students are first-generation college entrants, students from low-income families and students of color.

Ms. Tran is bilingual and of Mexican heritage. Given her Spanish-language skills and cultural knowledge, she has served as a Medline spokesperson to Spanish-language media and non-profit groups. Ms. Tran is a graduate of Loyola University with a BBA and concentration in Human Resources and an MBA from Keller Graduate School. She is also distinguished as a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®) through SHRM, one of the most recognized and highly-regarded human resource organizations in the nation.
