Governor Pritzker Appoints Dr. Andrew Warrington Interim Business Chair of the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board

Governor JB Pritzker has appointed Dr. Andrew Warrington as the Interim Business Chair of the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board (IWIB), following the recent retirement of John Rico, President and CEO of Rico Enterprises. The IWIB is comprised of Governor-appointed leaders from state, business, industry, labor, education, and community-based organizations with the goal of evaluating and meeting the workforce needs of Illinois’ employers and workers.

Dr. Warrington has been an active member of the IWIB since 2017, serving as Co-Chair of the Business Engagement Committee and a member of the Executive Committee and Continuous Improvement Committee. He is also an active member and former Board Chair of the Lake County Workforce Development Board (LCWDB).

In response to his latest appointment, Dr. Warrington stated, “I am extremely honored to step into this new role as Interim Business Chair of the IWIB. I wholeheartedly believe in and support the good work of the IWIB’s many leaders from across the great state of Illinois. My passion for supporting workforce development spans my entire professional career and I look forward to continuing to collaborate on critical strategies that will best serve the needs of employers and job seekers alike.”

In addition to Dr. Warrington’s role with the IWIB and LCWDB, he is also President and CEO of Waukegan-based UCC Environmental. With more than 103 years’ experience, UCC is a renowned global leader in environmental solutions and replacement parts for solids handling, wastewater treatment, and air pollution technologies in power generation, mining, steel, and other heavy industrial markets. Dr. Warrington has served as President and CEO of UCC for more than 10 years.
