Local Organizations Recognized at FMA 2025 Awards Gala

SparkForce, the charitable arm of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA), hosted its annual Awards Gala on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The event celebrates individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing manufacturing and strengthening the industry’s future through skilled workforce development.

Among the winners from across the country, Lake County-based Grayslake Community High School District 127 was recognized for its commitment to hands-on learning and career exploration in northern Illinois, earning the Future of Industry Award for its innovative, student-focused, and sustainable Summer Manufacturing Camp program.

Local manufacturer Laser Precision, LLC, a Weller Metalworks Company, was a finalist in the Impact on Industry Award category, which highlights qualities that embody true partnership in workforce development. Laser Precision is represented on the Lake County Workforce Development Board by Past Board Chair Kimberly Wimer.
